|科目の目的・到達目標||This course provides tutorial support for students in planning, developing, and writing about the fieldwork that they do overseas. Students will be expected to draw on Global LEAP lectures in the Spring Semester and their in-country fieldwork in the Fall Semester in completing assignments and combining them into an electronic portfolio.|
|授業の概要||This is a distance-learning course using ICT to provide tutorial support for students who are doing fieldwork overseas in the Fall Semester. The course involves a series of research and writing assignments that students combine into an electronic portfolio ("e-portfolio") about their individual research projects. The e-portfolio aims to help students deepen the quality of their fieldwork activities, critical analysis, and writing about their research. These assignments include:
• a statement of research interests and fieldwork goals
• a research plan
• a review of relevant sources of information
• multiple fieldwork journal entries reflecting on the process of doing fieldwork, including photos, images, short videos, and/or other relevant real-world documentation of fieldwork activities
• a fieldwork report
In consultation with the teacher of this course, students will individually agree on a schedule for completing and submitting the assignments for their e-portfolio. Through online tutorials the teacher will provide regular guidance and feedback to students on the development of fieldwork and their e-portfolios. Assignments will be written in English, and the fieldwork report will be minimum 1500 words long.

Week 2: Ways of researching. Fieldwork journaling.
Week 3: Planning and guidance about doing fieldwork.
Week 4: Completion of e-portfolio Assignment 2 (“Fieldwork Plan").
Week 5: Planning and guidance about using different sources of information.
Week 6: Completion of e-portfolio Assignment 3 ("Review of Information Sources").
Week 7: Guidance about fixed positions.
Week 8: Guidance about critical reflective writing.
Week 9: Completion of e-portfolio Assignment 4 ("Fieldwork Journal Entries").
Week 10: Guidance about fieldwork report writing.
Week 11: Structure and content of fieldwork report.
Week 12: Completion of complete first draft for e-portfolio Assignment 5 (Fieldwork Report").
Week 13: Revision and finalization of “Fieldwork Report."
Week 14: Completion of Assignment 6 ("Self-evaluation").
Submission of all e-portfolio assignments.
Week 15: Teacher feedback and evaluation.
