By the end of the course, students will have acquired critical thinking skills and improved vocabulary to express oneself in a logical manner.
|授業の概要||In this course students will be asked to read passages on various topics that are fundamental to the English language and culture. We will first cover key vocabulary items and idioms before moving on to the discussion question(s) which will be given prior to each class. Relevant discussion tips will be given accordingly. To conclude each chapter, students will be asked to compose a short essay based on the discussion. This will be collected and returned the following week for you to revise.
Please make sure to bring a dictionary (either paper or electronic) to each class. Mobile devices are not allowed to be used as a dictionary. Using thesaurus / collocation dictionaries is highly recommended. Details will be given in the first class.
