|科目の目的・到達目標||The Academic Presentations courses aim to help students successfully prepare and present researched and documented materials in the Policy Sciences and Cultural Studies. Using skills introduced in the Academic Writing courses and reinforced here, students will select and limit topics related to their own academic interests, locate relevant sources in the Chuo or other libraries, and relying on these and other materials prepare individual or group presentations that aim to inform, persuade, or challenge the assumptions of an audience. Students will be encouraged to make use of the audio-visual and computer resources of the Faculty, including presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, and in presenting their research to provide, accurately following a standard documentary form, a full list of sources consulted.|
|授業の概要||Drawing on the foundational presentation skills taught in the first term, the second term of this course focuses on formulating and responding to questions about academic presentations. Students will prepare and deliver presentations based on independent research, and engage in panel discussions about their research. Students will also participate in class discussions and deliver short presentations throughout the term.
