科目の目的・到達目標 This course aims to encourage students to become more friendly with English reading. The lecturer also places importance on communication and discussion based on the reading contents. The contents will help students understand contemporary Japanese culture and society and extend the range of their vocabulary.
授業の概要 The textbook of this course consists of various issues on out contemporary Japanese society in which students would be interested. It also provides them with active learning experiences. Through the pair and group work, students will be expected to develop how to engage with the text, and actively discuss the issues learned from the reading. In addition, students are supposed to take TOEFL Reading tests on a routine basis in order to reinforce their reading competency.
