| 科目の目的・到達目標 | The aim is to help you become a better writer by practicing and collaborating with others. The objective is for you to learn about writing strategies and how to proofread your writing and the writing of others. |
| 授業の概要 | This class is a writing workshop. Students work in pairs and small groups to learn about the writing process. The writing process includes the skills of brainstorming, discussing, interviewing, researching, collecting a higher level vocabulary, improving the accuracy of description, proofreading and sharing writing with others. Students build a portfolio of work, and produce 5 written products during the semester. |

| 評価方法 | Evaluation is based on: 50% for portfolio projects, and 50% for portfolio sharing & participating actively in class. |
| テキスト・参考文献等 | There is no textbook. Students will use internet and library resources and those provided to them in class. |
| 授業外の学習活動 | Writing takes a lot of time. Students would plan to write, and review their writing every day for approximately 30 to 60 minutes. Students should bring their own laptop or borrow one from the university. |
