科目の目的・到達目標 | This course aims to help students successfully prepare and present researched and documented materials based on students' academic interests. It also encourages them to become more friendly with English presentation. Through the group work, students will learn techniques of effective research, habits of critical thinking and the importance of collaboration. They are also expected to make use of the audio-visual and computer resources of the Faculty, including presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, and in presenting their research to provide, accurately following a standard documentary form, a full list of sources consulted. |
授業の概要 | This course is designed to improve both overall presentation skills and students’ confidence in English, focusing on academic and research literacy. It also provides students with active learning experiences. Using skills introduced in the textbook, students will select topics related to their own social and cultural interests and locate materials to inform, persuade and challenge the assumptions of their audience. Preparation for presentations, including background reading or rehearsal, will largely be done outside of class. |
