科目の目的・到達目標 | Through this course, students will be able to 1) understand the characteristics of ethical issues and how they are conveyed in writing. 2) acquire active reading and academic writing skills in english. 3) express their ideas/thoughts and participate in discussions. |
授業の概要 | In this course we will be reading "Ethics in the Real World" written by Peter Singer. The book contains Singer's brief essays on various topics in ethics. The course has three aims: 1) to learn the characteristics of 'ethical' issues 2) to acquire active reading and academic writing skills in English, and 3) to engage in discussions. Students are expected to select an essay for a group presentation in class and write an response paper. |
