|科目の目的・到達目標||The Academic Presentations courses aim to help students successfully prepare and present researched and documented materials in the Policy Sciences and Cultural Studies. Using skills introduced in the Academic Writing courses and reinforced here, students will select and limit topics related to their own academic interests, locate relevant sources in the Chuo or other libraries, and relying on these and other materials prepare individual or group presentations that aim to inform, persuade, or challenge the assumptions of an audience. Students will be encouraged to make use of the audio-visual and computer resources of the Faculty, including presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, and in presenting their research to provide, accurately following a standard documentary form, a full list of sources consulted.|
|授業の概要||The aim of this communication course is to prepare students with communication skills necessary in academic and professional circumstances through building strong reading, listening and speaking abilities. We will concentrate on developing the students’ English fluency by using materials such as news videos, documentaries, and films, together with faculty-related topic articles from newspapers and other sources.
For the fall semester, students will be required to give three presentations, one individually and two with a group. Research work outside the classroom is expected to prepare for these class activities.
