授業の概要

＜学位授与方針と当該授業科目の関連＞
この科目は、問題解決力（外国語とコミュニケーションの能力及びコンピューターを利用した統計・情報処理と分析の能力を用いて、科学技術及び社会の急速な変化に対応しながら、さまざまな問題を解決することができる）の修得に関わる科目です。

＜概要＞

This course enhances listening and comprehension skills by engaging with current events across various domains, including Cross-cultural Communication, Family, Technology and Relationships, Family Values 2, and Fandom. Students will refine their information capture, analytical, and speaking abilities by utilizing listening exercises, podcasts, video analysis, and effective note-taking method. Regular discussions and group projects encourage critical thinking and a global perspective, equipping students with the tools needed to articulate informed opinions and engage in meaningful dialogue about world events.

科目目的

Classes will involve listening tasks, conversation practice, vocabulary tasks, and small-group presentations. Homework will mainly involve presentation and conversation preparation/practice, as well as vocabulary work.

Students will be evaluated on the basis of their homework, midterm/final projects, unit review, preparation for and performance in class. Grades will be automatically reduced if students come to class unprepared or if they have any unexcused absences (100%).

その他特記事項

Note that three consecutive absences without a medical certificate will result in automatic elimination from the course. As grading is based on weekly participation therefore regular attendance is important.
