授業の概要

この科目は、問題解決力（外国語とコミュニケーションの能力及びコンピューターを利用した統計・情報処理と分析の能力を用いて、科学技術及び社会の急速な変化に対応しながら、さまざまな問題を解決することができる）の修得に関わる科目です。

＜概要＞
This course builds on the previous semester’s foundation by moving toward more organized, persuasive speaking and deeper listening comprehension. Students work with more information-rich audio/video, track claims and support, and respond to others with greater precision. Speaking tasks emphasize discussion that advances ideas (comparing viewpoints, evaluating reasons, and responding to counterarguments) and presentations that use evidence and clear structure. Through engaging topics, students strengthen communication habits that support personal growth—clarifying priorities, refining goals, and expressing a more thoughtful, well-supported stance in English.

- Strengthen listening comprehension by focusing on structure (claims, reasons, examples) and speaker stance.
- Improve the quality of discussion by responding to others with comparisons, evaluation, and evidence-based support.
- Develop more purposeful and persuasive spoken communication that reflects deeper reflection and perspective-taking.

到達目標

By the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. Explain a speaker’s claim and summarize the supporting reasons/examples.
2. Present and defend a viewpoint, including a basic response to a counterargument.
3. Move a discussion forward by building on others’ ideas.
4. Give a structured presentation that uses reasons and examples effectively (with brief Q&A).
