授業の概要
<学位授与方針と当該授業科目の関連>
この科目は、問題解決力(外国語とコミュニケーションの能力及びコンピューターを利用した統計・情報処理と分析の能力を用いて、科学技術及び社会の急速な変化に対応しながら、さまざまな問題を解決することができる)の修得に関わる科目です。
<概要>
This course is designed to develop the English skills students need to get a job and work effectively within a foreign multinational corporation. The course will focus on English skills required to get the "first job". The business culture and practices of foreign companies will be examined and compared to Japanese companies. English skills related to typical job search activities will be practiced extensively. Students will be expected to prepare diligently for class on a regular basis. A wide variety of assignments will be given to practice the required.

授業計画と内容
1.Course Introduction & What Is Marketing
In this week, students are introduced to the course structure and goals. Students learn what marketing is, why it is important, and how the 4 Ps of marketing are used by companies.
2.The 4 Ps of Marketing: Overview
Students learn the basic meaning of Product, Price, Place, and Promotion. Real-world examples are used to help students understand how companies use the 4 Ps together.
3.Product (P1): Understanding Products
Students learn the difference between goods and services and how products are designed to meet customer needs and wants.
4.Product Branding & Company Creation
Students create a company name and product idea. They identify their target customer and write a clear product description using simple marketing language.
5.Price (P2): Pricing Basics
Students learn what price is and why pricing decisions are important. They study basic ideas such as cost, value, and profit.
6.Setting a Price for Your Product
Students decide on a price for their product and explain why they chose that price. Pricing vocabulary and simple pricing strategies are practiced.
7.Place (P3): Where Products Are Sold
Students learn what “place” means in marketing and compare online stores and physical stores. Basic distribution concepts are introduced.
8.Choosing the Best Place to Sell
Students decide where to sell their product and explain their choice. Case studies and discussion activities help students understand good placement strategies.
9.Promotion (P4): How Companies Communicate
Students learn how companies promote products through advertising, social media, and other promotional tools. Key promotion vocabulary is introduced.
10.Planning a Promotion Strategy
Students plan a promotion strategy for their product, including social media and video marketing. Students explain how their promotion will reach customers.
11.Website Planning Using the 4 Ps
Students plan the structure of their marketing website and organize content using Product, Price, Place, and Promotion sections.
12.Building the Marketing Website
Students build their website and write clear explanations for each of the 4 Ps. Peer feedback is used to improve website content.
13.Final Speaking Project Preparation
Students prepare for the final speaking project by practicing their explanation and learning how to record a screencast of their website.
14.Final Screencast Presentations & Course Review
Students submit their final screencast presentation and review the main concepts of the 4 Ps of marketing. Students reflect on what they learned during the course.
Please note that this schedule may be changed to accommodate the needs of the class. There will be no classes on special University holidays.
