授業の概要
This course aims to build the skills to write diverse types of essays while incorporating external sources effectively. It will also prepare students to create a research paper on a topic of their choice.
科目目的
In this course, students will learn and practice techniques for incorporating external sources into their writing (e.g., quoting, paraphrasing, summarizing & synthesizing). Using these skills and examples from model essays, they will compose essays or reviews that skillfully reference others’ work.
到達目標
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
(a) produce clear, smoothly flowing text in an appropriate style, effectively paraphrasing, summarizing, and synthesizing sources as part of their writing;
(b) write reports or articles with a coherent and effective logical structure; and
(c) compose summaries and reviews.
