授業の概要

By working on exercises on the textbook and given assignments, students will learn the basics of paragraph writing: the elements of a paragraph, patterns of organization, and different rhetorical styles. Towards the end of the course, in addition, students will set out to practice writing summaries and argumentative essays.

科目目的

This course will help students to develop and master paragraph and essay writing skills while building on their knowledge of the basics of English composition. By the end of this course, students should be able to:
a. simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
b. write simple essays based on personal experiences and impressions.
c. write give reasons and explanations for opinions, plans and actions.
