授業の概要

Students will prepare a final product to explain and share their research in the zemi with other students in the class and people outside of the class. They will be able to choose from different final products such as a research report, a webpage, a poster presentation (given at a conference with students from other universities) or educational materials designed for use with school students. The final product will made in the 2nd half of the 2nd semester, and will be based on research done in the 1st half of the 2nd semester plus relevant research from the 1st semester. Students will receive guidance from the teacher about choosing a product that is appropriate for sharing their research and about how to prepare their product, and can refer to examples of work from other students in previous years of the zemi. They can also receive feedback on their work from other students in the zemi.

学生は、ゼミで行った研究をクラスの他の学生や学外の人々に説明・共有するための最終成果物を作成する。最終成果物としては、研究レポート、ウェブページ、ポスター発表（他大学の学生と合同で行う学会発表）、または学校現場での使用を想定した教育教材など、複数の形式の中から選択することができる。最終成果物の作成は、秋学期後半に行うこととし、秋学期前半に行った研究に加え、春学期に行った関連研究を基礎とする。学生は、研究内容を適切に共有するために、成果物の選択方法や作成方法について、教員から指導を受けることができる。また、過去のゼミ生による成果物の例を参考にすることもできる。さらに、ゼミ内の他の学生からフィードバックを受けることも可能である。

Out-of-class preparation and review will include research (reading and note-taking) with the support of the course website, writing about your research, preparing for presentations and discussions, and preparing your final product for the zemi. Research can include secondary research such as looking at online materials or using books and articles from the library or from library databases, as well as primary research such as meeting and talking with people and organizations affected by or involved with issues of marginalization, discrimination and exploitation, volunteering with groups working to support diversity, equality and social justice, or helping to organize events such as film shows or guest speakers related to the zemi.
