授業の概要

This is an academic communication and writing course. The aim of the course is to develop the ability to explain and discuss topics that include general issues of science, technology and the environment. Students will work together both inside and outside of class on projects, presentations and reports that reflect their interests, learning how to structure longer pieces of spoken and written communication while improving their interpersonal and collaborative skills. They will activate the relevant vocabulary and grammar they have learned and apply it to express their ideas accurately and fluently.
英語表現演習3では、英語でのアカデミック・コミュニケーションとアカデミック・ライティングの能力を有機的に伸ばすことを目指す。この授業では、主に科学、技術、環境の一般的な問題を含むトピックに関して説明し議論する能力を高める。また、各授業では教室内外において、クラスメートと共に自分たちの関心に基づいたプロジェクト、プレゼンテーション、レポートに取り組むことを通じて、対人スキルや協働スキルを高めるとともに、より複雑で長い話し言葉・書き言葉でのコミュニケーションの構成方法を学ぶ。加えて、これまで学んだ関連語彙や文法を実際に活用し、自らの考えを正確かつ流暢に表現できるようにする。

科目目的

In this course, students will build on the fundamental skills developed during their first year to explain and discuss topics that include general issues of science, technology and the environment.
英語表現演習3では、1年次に培った各技能の素地をもとにして、主に科学、技術、環境の一般的な問題を含むトピックに関して説明し議論する能力を高めることを目的とする。

到達目標

Students should be able to:
1. Understand a variety of issues in science, technology and the environment.
2. Structure longer pieces of spoken and written communication.
3. Speak and write confidently on topics that reflect their interests.
英語表現演習3を通して、学生は以下のことが可能になることが期待される。
1．科学、技術、環境に関する諸問題を理解することができる。
2．より長い話し言葉・書き言葉でのコミュニケーションを成立させることができる。
3．自分たちの関心に基づいたトピックについて、自信をもって話したり書いたりすることができる。

授業内にわからなかった語・フレーズ・文を書きだし、次回までに必ず理解してくる。同様に、産出を試みたが失敗した語・フレーズ・文などはノートにメモし、辞書で調べ、わからないものに関しては担当教員に尋ねる。

授業時間外の学修に必要な時間数／週

・毎週１回の授業が半期（前期または後期）または通年で完結するもの。１週間あたり１時間の学修を基本とします。
