授業の概要

This course comprises one of the required classes for completion of the Global Program. In this course, students will examine in English the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), putting a focus on what we as individuals can do to ameliorate social, economic, and environmental inequalities within our world. As well as taking a broad overview of the SDGs and their principles and challenges, students will choose one goal in which they have a particular interest, carrying out a research project into specific instances of how individual action impacted a local area. They will present the results of their research in an oral (poster) presentation and promotional video. Through their work in class, students will learn the fundamental principles of communicating information clearly, concisely, and attractively.
本科目はグローバル・プログラム修了に必要な科目の１つである。本科目では、国連の掲げる17の持続可能な開発目標(SDGs)について英語で調査し、私たちの世界にある社会的、経済的、環境的な格差を改善するために私たちが個人としてできることは何かを考える。17の目標とその原則や課題を概観した上で、受講者それぞれが関心を寄せる目標を一つ選び、いかに個人の行動が地域に影響するかを具体的に示す調査プロジェクトを実施する。調査の結果はプレゼンテーションとビデオ広告の両方で報告する。本科目での学びを通じて、明瞭に、簡潔に、そして興味をもってもらえるように情報を伝えるための基本原則を身に付ける。

科目目的

In this course, students will study about different SDGs and their implementation in different areas of the world. They will develop the ability to analyze the potential of different courses of action and learn how to convey information clearly, creatively, and persuasively.
本科目では、世界各地におけるさまざまなSDGsの実施について学ぶ。学生は多様な行動方針の可能性を分析する力を養い、情報を明確に、創造的かつ説得力をもって伝える方法を学ぶ。

到達目標

Students should be able to:
1. Understand the implementation of SDGs in different areas of the world.
2. Research, analyze, and present information about SDGs in written and verbal form.
3. Work collaboratively and creatively to convey an argument in a persuasive and imaginative fashion.
本科目を通して、学生は以下のことが可能になることが期待される。
1．世界各地におけるSDGsの実施を理解できる。
2．SDGsに関する情報を調査・分析し、文章および口頭で発表できる。
3．協働的かつ創造的に取り組み、説得力と独創性をもって議論を伝えることができる。
