授業の概要
In this class, students reaffirm what paragraph writing is and develop the ability to write academic essays step by step. Therefore, from Units 1 to 5, students will review how to write paragraphs and deepen understanding of the writing skill through pair work and small-group activities at class. Besides, in Unit 6, students will learn how to structure and outline their own essays (introduction → main argument → conclusion).
科目目的
The purpose of this class is to acquire the ability to use correct grammar and basic structures of sentences, and to write paragraphs and academic essays based on logic.

毎週、各自で英字新聞や英文のネット記事を読み、それに関する感想や問題提起を英文で書いてくる課題を課すので、次の授業で提出すること。

・毎週１回の授業が半期（前期または後期）または通年で完結するもの。１週間あたり４時間の学修を基本とします。

その他特記事項
(1) If you are absent 5 times in a semester, you won't be given the credit of this class.(except for unavoidable circumstances such as infectious diseases).
(2) Two late arrivals or early departures will be considered one absence.
(3) Bring an English-English dictionary or electronic dictionary to class. You are not allowed to use smartphones and tablets.
(4) The deadline for submission of assignments must be strictly adhered to. Several points will be deducted for the late submission according to the seriousness of the delay. In case of no submission, no points.
(5) If you fail to submit essays, you will be given no points.
(6) If you need to contact the lecturer, send a mail by manaba. However, don't expect quick response because the lecturer is often occupied with other things.
