この科目は、現実把握力（経済学の専門知識及び社会・人文・自然科学の知識教養に裏付けられた広い視野に立った柔軟な知性に基づき、現実の経済現象を的確に把握することができる）の修得に関わる科目です。
＜概要＞
Topics in Applied Linguistics: Linguistic Landscape

The topic of this course is Linguistic Landscape, a subfield of Applied Linguistics. Lectures will introduce the frameworks developed by researchers in this field to understand the nature and function of language in public spaces. These concepts help us to explore the social and political implications of which languages are displayed and how, issues of language and community, how Linguistic Landscape contributes to the sense of “place” in a particular location, and how language mediates economic activities such as tourism.

To provide students with frameworks and analytical tools to understand language in their environments
To introduce real world examples of this area of research and their practical applications
