授業の概要
This course is a preparatory course for students wishing to participate in study abroad programs. With this aim in mind the course focuses on language skills required to pass SA entry requirements (i.e. IELTS or TOEFL) and language and intercultural understanding skills required for longer study abroad programs.
An academic-skills-based textbook and supplementary materials will be used in this course. Students will work on developing academic English communication and writing skills, as well as participate in various other activities.
科目目的
The focus of this course will be on continuing to improve your English speaking and writing skills. In order to improve these skills to the level required to be admitted to a study abroad program by the end of the year, students will concentrate on developing skills needed for tasks on TOEFL or IELTS. In addition, students will also have ample opportunities to work on listening and reading skills, and participate in various activities. All the lectures will be conducted in English.
This is a global subject in the curriculum; and through work in this subject, students will acquire skills needed for intercultural communication and study abroad.

We will be using Canva, Padlet and document/slide software (e.g. Word / PowerPoint) in class. In addition, students are asked to submit short videos.
Students will also be introduced to various ICT tools and open educational resources throughout the semester which they may find useful for current studies or during study abroad.
You will be expected to study English outside the class using E-learning and other materials, and to prepare for each class.
It is also recommended that you take the TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo English Test (DET) to check your English level.
