授業の概要
These courses examine the role of private sector in development, in general. The cases of different companies who are working towards the fulfilment of sustainable development goals (SDGs) will be discussed. The students will be trained on how to do group research. The students will also be guided on how to conduct interviews and fieldwork with relevant development agencies or businesses.
科目目的
This course aims to help student gain awareness and understanding of global problem of poverty and inequality. Through this course, the students will learn diverse political, economic, social conditions around the world. The students will also learn the usage of various development-related indicators. This course also encourages students to reflect about their possible contribution in solving the problem of poverty and inequality. This course also aims to train students on how to conduct academic research.

By the end of this course, the students are expected:
1. To have increased awareness and concern about poverty and inequality
2. To be able to explain different concepts and details about poverty and inequality.
3. To be able to access and use various development-related indicators.
4. To be able evaluate to different approaches in solving poverty-related problems.
5. To achieve improvement in their research, writing, and presentation skills.
