授業の概要
This course explores the global nature of work. Using Japan as a case study, you will explore:
- the reasons why corporations "go global" and the implications this has for developing an international human resources (IHR) strategy;
- the different lawyering styles available to assist multinational clients with designing and implementing their IHR strategy;
- the sources of law, both international and comparative, that apply to IHR;
- the cultural and non-cultural contextual factors that will impact on advising on IHR; and
- the different approaches national legal systems take to regulating labour and employment issues, such as security, equality, dignity and mobility

The objectives of the course are to advise a hypothetical multinational corporate client on:
- designing and implementing an international human resources strategy;
- drafting human resources policies and systems that effectively synthesize international and global sources of law;
- recruiting, retaining and inducting new employees;
- Investigating and resolving labour grievances both within the workplace and in the global supply chain
