授業の概要
In the spring students are expected to read and think about a variety of contemporary topics and give speeches while expressing their own opinions.
In the fall, it becomes more challenging and students are expected to discuss a variety of topics in pairs or groups and they need to practice speaking and writing in class in order to better argue their opinions.
科目目的
In the spring the focus is on speaking practice and oral communication, with less emphasis on writing.
This changes in the fall as the course gets more demanding. The students are expected to discuss a variety of issues and writing helps students improve at using vocabulary and expressing their opinions. Students need to argue a point of view and give examples and details. They should be prepared to agree or disagree with other students.
到達目標
In the spring the focus will be on speaking practice and oral communication. There will be opportunity for students to practice writing. Students will make short speeches in each unit, and at times students to write out their speeches in order to improve their vocabulary.
In the spring, students are expected to discuss various contemporary topics. Writing is important as students need to practice arguing their opinions in a logical way.
In the fall students should be prepared to discuss various topics and give their opinions. They should learn to agree or disagree with other students and justify their opinions as best they can.
