授業の概要

This is an ADVANCED LEVEL elective for students with a TOEIC score of 600 and above. This course is mainly for students who intend to use English in their future careers or who plan to go to graduate school where they will participate in international conferences. The goal is to develop communication skills for professional settings. Students will engage in practical exercises such as group discussions about scientific topics, poster and PowerPoint presentations on subject-specific knowledge, and Q&A sessions like those used at international conferences. They will learn strategies for each situation and build the ability to effectively communicate about specialized topics.
本科目はTOEIC 600点以上の学生を対象とする「アドバンスト・コース」に位置づけられる。将来のキャリアにおいて英語を使用することを想定している学生、または大学院に進学し国際学会に参加することを目指す学生を主な対象とする。目的は、専門的な場面に対応できるコミュニケーション能力を育成することである。授業では、科学的テーマに関するグループディスカッション、専門分野に基づいたポスター発表やPowerPoint発表、さらには国際学会形式の質疑応答セッションなど、実践的な演習を行う。これらを通じて、状況ごとの戦略を学び、専門的な内容を効果的に伝える力を養う。

科目目的

In this course, students will develop advanced communication skills in English for discussing and presenting subject-specific knowledge.
本科目では、専門分野に基づく知識を議論し発表するための高度な英語コミュニケーション能力を養う。

Students should be able to:
1. Present knowledge based on their own specialities.
2. Engage actively in discussions on scientific topics.
3. Use strategies for communicating in professional and academic settings.
アカデミック・コミュニケーションを通して、学生は以下のことが可能になることが期待される。
