授業の概要
The course enhances students' reading fluency through the utilization of graded readers. It involves creating posters based on the readings and articulating their comprehension of the material. As students gain confidence and proficiency in their reading abilities, they will delve into local and global issues associated with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This exploration will be facilitated through readings and research on these pertinent issues.
The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals are:
- No poverty
- Zero hunger
- Good health and well-being
- Quality education
- Gender equality
- Clean water and sanitation
- Affordable and clean energy
- Decent work and economic growth
- Industry, innovation, and infrastructure
- Reduced inequalities
- Sustainable cities and communities

科目目的
This course focuses a holistic understanding of the text. Students learn to find keywords, key phrases, and making connections by mind mapping.
As with the companion course Performance Focus for SDGs, readings in the course will be on themes relevant to SDGs, and the course will also include SDG-themed activities and projects which extend over several weeks.

By the conclusion of the course, students will have acquired the skills to engage with texts in a profound, logical, and comprehensive manner. They will have explored a diverse array of text types and genres pertinent to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Furthermore, they will grasp the significance of the SDGs, comprehend their interconnections, and recognize their importance in the contemporary world.
