授業の概要
This course will concentrate on global and local inequalities, with a specific focus on gender, economic, social, and political disparities. Each week, experts and organizational representatives researching and working on various issues will deliver a lecture.
The class will commence with a 40-50 minute lecture, followed by a group discussion. Each group will then share their discussions with the lecturer.

To understand the inequalities from multiple perspectives.
To critically analyze multiple inequalities in both global and local contexts.
To establish connections between local and global inequalities and gain a comprehensive understanding from diverse perspectives.

Through lectures and discussions, students are expected to critically analyze various inequalities and establish connections between local and global contexts. Applying the knowledge gained from the course, students construct arguments, incorporating data and evidence appropriately, and develop critical analyses.

All the lecturers involved in the course are highly knowledgeable in their respective areas. Many of them have published books and papers related to the subjects and have been teaching or delivering talks in their areas of expertise for many years.

Tin Tin Htun, the organizer of the course, brings 20 years of experience teaching courses related to gender studies and social inequality. Drawing from her expertise, she focuses on understanding the factors that shape multiple inequalities in both local (Japan) and global contexts. Utilizing interactive discussions, her classes require students to actively engage and gain diverse perspectives on the issues covered in the course.
Throughout her career, Tin Tin has invited numerous guest speakers to her classes, noting the valuable perspectives and experiences students gain from these interactions. Motivated by this, she has organized this course to be taught by a diverse group of experts, researchers, and activists. This approach provides students with opportunities to learn from individuals with vast experience in their respective fields, an experience that goes beyond traditional textbook readings.
