履修条件・関連科目等

All participants are required to complete outstanding levels of introductory economics, microeconomics, and English with outstanding attendance records until the spring semester of the second year. In addition, all seminar members are expected to join external activities, which are frequently held with local governments and neighbouring communities. As our activity includes external activities, all members are rigidly required to keep on regular attendances and participations to the class under a punctual time management as well as general business manners to be recognised as smart individuals. Hence, it would be certainly comfortable for students those who are willing to join these trainings and benefits. Otherwise, this course is not a good option so that we invite you to visit our seminar as a guest for assisting your best decision-making.

本ゼミでは大学生として学業を本分とし、メンバー全体での効果的な学びの環境が得られるよう、勉学に専念できる体制を全員に整えていただくことが必要です。これまでの履修全体における高い学業成果、及び経済学入門、ミクロ経済学、外国語運用における正確な活用ができるメンバーを募集し、ゼミでは全メンバーによる地方自治体や独立行政法人、コミュニティとの課外活動における主体的参画が求められます。対外的な活動が含まれることから、通常の授業実施時における無遅刻、無欠席、締切日時を設定してのプロジェクト遂行、チームワーク、ビジネスマナーといった社会人としての素養も身につけていきます。以上の点に高い関心を有し真面目に取り組む姿勢をお持ちの方々には大変有意義なゼミになるとともに、真面目に取り組む姿勢がなければ本ゼミでの単位取得は困難となりますので、必ずゼミ見学にお越しいただき、実際の雰囲気をお確かめください。

授業の概要

We examine topics on the quality of life, better life, and wellbeing. This special seminar recruits students who have sufficient evidences to achieve effective learning with classmates until the stage of special seminar V by checking recent academic records, language skills, and self-management skills. We may provide an effective learning environment for those highly-motivated industrial members.

[Study abroad and other activities during the seminar series]
Our policies for students, who study abroad and other activities during the seminar series, are as follows.
- Students, who join study-abroad programme and other long-term activities during the seminar series, are required to have a meeting for planning study schedule after return. This meeting must be done before departure, and students are strongly advised to notify an intension to leave as soon as its schedule is fixed.
- Students who hold outstanding academic records before leaving can register our special seminar series up to two courses per semester upon request.

本専門演習は、生活の質や暮らしやすさ、ウェルビーングといったテーマについて検証します。本専門演習で募集するメンバーは、これまでの優れた履修状況に加え、効果的学修成果を高めていくための自己管理力、卒業論文執筆のための十分な語学運営能力などが望まれます。卒業まで高い学修意欲を維持し続けるメンバーで専門演習 V まで構成される演習履修を基本方針とし、新しく学ぶことについては丁寧に指導していくとともに、習得した知識を正確に使うことができるトレーニングを重ねていきます。

【専門演習履修過程での留学等について】専門演習履修過程で留学等を予定している場合には本専門演習では以下の方針であることをご確認ください。
・予定された時点で速やかに事前相談を行うこと（渡航直前もしくは渡航後の経過報告等は事前相談として取扱われません）。
・帰国後は、事前相談の時点で優れた学業状況が確認できている場合には、専門演習を２つまで同時に履修可とする。

科目目的

This special seminar explores topics on the quality of life, better life, wellbeing, and other relevant topics by referring to our recent collaborative joint research project with local governments and other public authorities. In particular, we expand our horizon to various fields regarding the issues on regional economy and social welfare. In terms of 'international', our concern is given to case studies for advanced examples in some countries and proposing regional policy implications under various constraints. In particular, our research under a collaboration with JAXA involves both international and domestic tourism studies for a built-in package of local regional planning and strategy. For 'management', our approach includes the notion of resilience, which may be relevant not only to business firms and organisations but also urban planning and regional operation. These can be referred to as 'interdependencies', 'agglomeration economies' and 'marginal principles', which shold be familiar with students those who deeply studied introductory economic and microeconomics. 本専門演習では、生活の質や暮らしやすさについて、行政をはじめ様々な公的機関との研究事業における知見を生かしながら、特に、国際社会におけるリスク管理をはじめとするマネジメントの視点から、地域経済と人々の豊かさについて様々な分野に考察の対象を拡げて分析していきます。

「国際」では、ウェルビーングや仕事に関する国際社会の先進的な事例及び課題について学ぶとともに、現在実施中の JAXA との共同研究では国内外からの宇宙旅客を前提とした持続可能なまちづくりの取組が最重要項目の１つとして位置づけられています。

「マネジメント」では、物ごとを取り巻く環境の特性に応じて、どのようなしくみが有効であるかを追究します。また、周囲の状況が変化した際にもしなやかに対応できるレジリエンスについても考察の対象としています。マネジメントは企業や組織運営に限らず、都市計画や地域運営も含まれている点に着目し分析を行います。

以上は、外部性、相互依存関係、限界の概念といったこれまでに学んできた経済学のトピックに密接に関連づけられています。

到達目標

Successful students may be able to graduate with sufficient levels on economic theory, international spatial studies, policy & management, together with outstanding skills on basic IT competence, time management, schedule organising, independent research, collaborative research, workshops coordination, constructive debating, effective negotiation, and other internationally competitive academic and practical skills.

This class follows 'BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Policy' of the Faculty of Global Management, and all participants should bring your own PC which fully satisfies minimum Faculty-recommended specifications (i.e., display screen-size etc). Note that the University prohibits any use of SNS during the lecture, and no course material can be distributed somewhere else outside the class under the copyright-protection, license agreement terms and conditions, and other restrictions. Also, this seminar frequently has time for 'Close your laptop' sessions to maximize effective study environment.
