授業の概要
This course will teach you how to write five different types of academic essay. You will also learn how to cite and quote sources in MLA style, preparing you for writing a properly formatted graduation thesis.
The types of essay covered in the spring semester are:
- Explanatory essays
- Problem-solution essays

What you will do in class each week:
You will follow step-by-step instructions to complete a specific type of five-paragraph academic essay. Throughout the process, you will be required to actively participate in individual and pair activities.
科目目的
This course is designed for third-year English majors. As such, it aims to equip students with the skills required to write academic essays in MLA style, thereby preparing them for their final-year graduation thesis.

The goals of this course are for students to learn:
- the five types of academic writing: explanatory, problem-solution, comparison-contrast, persuasive, and response essays
- how to format their essays in MLA style
- how to revise and refine their essay drafts, by seeking feedback from their peers and teach
