授業の概要
Seminar II is an opportunity for 3rd year students to learn the mechanism of international trade focusing on import and export business (Contract, and flow of money, goods, documents, etc.), and to improve your presentation skills. Case studies on negotiation will also be assigned.
科目目的
This course aims to help you learn the fundamental business transactions on import and export business of commodities. You will also learn presentation skills in class, and opportunities to negotiate on particular cases will be provided for practical purposes.
到達目標
In order to develop the skills and confidence necessary for classwork in English, 3rd year students are encouraged to strengthen their English abilities by learning import and export business as well as negotiation in English. This class is a stepping stone to successful bilingual studies during your 4 years in the Global Management Faculty.
授業計画と内容
1. Introduction to the course
2. Import and export business: Difference of domestic and international trade business.
3. Import and export business: Conclusion of contract, inquiry and firm offer.
4. Import and export business: Picked-up trade terms. Negotiation: Case study 1.
5. Import and export business: Obligation of exporters and importers.
6. Import and export business: Shipping documents (Commercial invoice, marine insurance policy and bill of lading).
7. Import and export business: Letter of credit (theory).
8. Import and export business: Letter of credit (practical aspect). Negotiation: Case study 2.
9. Import and export business: Flow of import and export business by the time the exporter receives Letter of credit.
10. Import and export business: Flow of import and export business after checking Letter of credit.
11. Import and export business: Review. Negotiation: Case study 3.
12. Presentation on business in Asia and/or Japan (group A).
13. Presentation on business in Asia and/or Japan (group B).
14. Final discussions.
