授業の概要
Advanced English: IELTS Writing Intensive Course
This course is dedicated to the writing component of the IELTS test. Not only will it introduce each section of the test, but it will focus on skills that may to needed to enhance your performance. Each week will address a different topic and skill, leading up to an test practice assessment.
Students will learn how to:
a) understand the assessment criteria and testing format
b) understand the expectations of task 1 and 2
c) write about processes, data and argument style papers
d) prepare and plan ideas
e) develop their topic vocabulary for a range of topics
f) develop language for a range of test scenarios
g) develop language for B2/C1 CEFR level responses
The 14 week course will cover all the essentials to help students (candidates) prepare and hopefully succeed in the IELTS exam. It will cover EVERY main scenario that students may face in the real exam!
This course has been designed for students who want to study/work abroad in the future, or for those who want to understand their English language progress. This course is designed for students who want to gain a score of 6.5 or above.

Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to perform the following:
1. understand the format and expectations of the IELTS writing test
2. be able to complete a full IELTS writing test with greater confidence
3. gain greater skills that may positively impact their test performance
4. have a greater understanding and ability with writing skills for the test (both task 1 and task 2)

授業計画と内容
Please note: this schedule maybe subject to change depending on students numbers, student needs/experience and results of diagnostic lesson. Task 2 has been emphasized because it is the most difficult part of the speaking test and because it yields higher scores. Assessments will generally remain fixed.

Week 8 - Peer Review Session
Week 9 - Task 1: Process Writing
Week 10 - Task 2: Problem Solution Essay
Week 11 - Task 2: Hybrid Essays (Dealing with the New Style)
Week 12 - Free Practice and Feedback Session
Week 13 - Final Speaking Exam
Week 14 - Self Reflection Task/Tutorials

Reading and listening tasks will be required on a weekly basis. This preparation will be required in order to participate in the following lesson. Each week there will be a different theme in order to broaden students topic knowledge and vocabulary.
Timed writing assignments will also be used.

Feedback will be based on the IELTS speaking criteria.
Feedback will delivered by Manaba, in class and via tutorials if students require. Both personal and group feedback should be expected also.
Students will be expected to respond to feedback on a regular basis to improve.
