授業の概要
This class is a practical course designed to offer students a number of opportunities to organize and prepare public speaking assignments. In addition to public speaking, further performance opportunities may be included in the area of public oral reading. Students will learn about the role of communication in our lives, the communication model, delivery styles, and the effectiveness of language, gestures, and organizational techniques.
科目目的
At the end of this course, students should feel more comfortable speaking in front of an audience and supporting their opinions. Students will have the opportunity to deliver several kinds of speeches that they may encounter sometime during their professional or personal careers. Finally, the students will learn how to write and deliver a persuasive speech without the use of a script.
到達目標
To develop an understanding that communication is a two-way process in which the listener evaluates the effectiveness of the speaker. To improve skills in listening, organizing, adapting to audiences, and orally presenting messages.
