その他特記事項

The novel "Frankenstein" is one the first horror books ever written by a female author. What most people need to understand is that it is NOT a monster story but a book of philosophy on what it means to be human. It is also a book about hubris (excessive pride or self confidence) and fear of the unknown. It is one of the most popular books ever written. We will be reading the graphic novel. The script is based on the words directly from the novel. We will discuss the advantages and drawbacks of graphic novels vs. the full novel.

"Never Let Me Go" takes the theme of humankind in a new direction. It asks the simple question: are clones of the same human value as their originals?

Both of these books have been made into popular movies but do not delve into the details found within the pages of the written books!

Additional reading material: "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K. Dick and "The Island of Dr. Moreau" by H. G. Wells.
