授業の概要
This course is designed for students who plan to have a short-term study abroad program at California State University - East Bay (CSUEB).
This course provides opportunities to prepare for the short-term study abroad program, by developing English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) skills, and learning about cross-cultural communication, pragmatics (politeness), leadership, and study abroad challenges/opportunities.

Students are expected to improve their English skills and develop their awareness of global/intercultural competence.
到達目標
By the end of the course, students are expected to do presentations and discussions on topics related to intercultural communication, motivation, leadership, and pragmatics in English. This will help students to analyze and prepare for the challenges that come with study abroad and will aid them in developing a mindset conducive to productive and positive intercultural exchange.

| レポート | 20 | Individual Reflective Report (end-of-term). Each student will write a 3–4-page reflective report on their key takeaways from this course and how they relate to their upcoming study abroad program (Single space, Times New Roman, font size 12) |
| 平常点 | 10 | Attendance, Class discussions, Homework assignments. |
| その他 | 50 | 50% of your grade will be decided by CSUEB study abroad program. |
