授業の概要
This course develops students’ communicative competence in English through active participation, discussion, and regular presentation-style performance focused on contemporary global and social issues. Using current events and SDG-related themes, students engage in interactive speaking activities that emphasize idea development and clear expression.
Students regularly practice short, low-stakes presentation-style performances, supported by script writing and simple digital visuals (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Canva). These performances focus on communicating meaning rather than memorization, accuracy, or technical perfection.
Topics increase gradually in conceptual complexity over the semester, moving from familiar, personal themes to broader social and global issues aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The course prioritizes active engagement and communicative growth over polished performance.
