授業の概要
This course is a practical skills-based course designed to support students preparing for the TOEFL iBT (2026 format) and the IELTS Academic or General Training examinations, with a specific focus on speaking and writing. The course introduces students to the structure, expectations, and task types of both tests while developing the core language skills required for successful performance. Through guided practice, timed tasks, and structured feedback, students build confidence in expressing ideas clearly, accurately, and appropriately under test conditions. The course emphasizes clarity, organization, fluency, and task awareness rather than test tricks, enabling students to apply these skills beyond the examination context.
科目目的
The primary objective of this course is to help students develop the practical speaking and writing abilities required for international English proficiency tests. Throughout the course, students are guided to become familiar with the new TOEFL 2026 speaking and writing tasks as well as the full range of IELTS speaking and writing components, while learning how to respond effectively within time and format constraints. The course aims to strengthen students’ ability to organize ideas logically, support opinions with reasons and examples, and communicate meaning clearly using appropriate grammar and vocabulary.
到達目標
By the completion of this course, students can explain the main differences between the TOEFL and IELTS speaking and writing sections and recognize what each task requires. They can respond to common TOEFL speaking prompts with clear pronunciation and organized ideas, and they can participate in IELTS-style interviews by giving extended answers. In writing, students can produce short, accurate sentences for TOEFL sentence-building tasks, write clear and appropriate emails for practical situations, and contribute relevant ideas to academic discussion prompts. They can also plan and write structured responses for IELTS Writing Task 1 and Task 2, using basic data description, paragraph organization, and supporting details. Overall, students can manage time effectively during speaking and writing tasks, self-evaluate their performance using simple criteria, and apply learned strategies independently when preparing for English proficiency tests.
