授業の概要
The Performance Focus courses teach presentation and visual literacy skills, aiming to teach students how to effectively communicate information through scripted presentations and visual material. Students will prepare and deliver presentations (either individually or in groups) on diverse topics.
科目目的
This course focuses on output: how students communicate information in English.
This involves extensive practice in script writing and the use of voice, eye contact, gestures, and other body language. Students will also make use of audio-visual and computer resources, including presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint (or similar software).
到達目標
By the end of the course, all students will have had extensive practice in script writing and giving presentations. They will have planned and presented scripted oral presentations, including PowerPoint-style slideshows with clear, concise, and engaging use of text and graphics. When giving their presentations, they will be able to skillfully and effectively use techniques involving voice, eye contact, gestures, and body language.
