授業の概要
The Performance Focus courses teach students how to effectively communicate information through discussion and scripted presentations. Students will prepare and deliver presentations on topics relevant to the field of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals are:
- No poverty
- Zero hunger
- Good health and well-being
- Quality education
- Gender equality
- Clean water and sanitation
- Affordable and clean energy
- Decent work and economic growth
- Industry, innovation, and infrastructure
- Reduced inequalities
- Sustainable cities and communities

科目目的
In this class, students will develop essential listening, speaking, and presentation skills which help them succeed with their academic and professional goals. They will watch the short videos on SDGs in order to improve their listening ability. After understanding the videos correctly, they will discuss or deliver a presentation on topics relevant to the videos.
到達目標
By the end of this course, students will have been equipped with the communicative skills they need when they speak and listen to English in social and academic settings. They will have learnt how to express their opinions clearly and logically in discussion and how to make themselves understood in English in formal or informal presentations. They will also have learnt how to use their voice, eye contact and gestures effectively when giving their presentations.

毎週1回の授業が半期(前期または後期)または通年で完結するもの。1週間あたり1時間の学修を基本とします。
