この科目は、問題解決力(外国語とコミュニケーションの能力及びコンピューターを利用した統計・情報処理と分析の能力を用いて、科学技術及び社会の急速な変化に対応しながら、さまざまな問題を解決することができる)の修得に関わる科目です。
<概要>
Using a task-based approach, this course will encourage critical thinking, independent research, and group discussion about social issues. Students will be instructed in how to prepare and give presentations about the course content.
Students should prepare and review the exercises in the textbook as assigned.
At the end of each unit (4 units per semester), students will prepare a larger assignment, typically completed as group work, following instructions given in class. If a student’s absence on the day of a group presentation is excused by the department, the student may complete an alternate assignment outside of class for evaluation.
